Hope?

I have always believed that wild passions
Painted the world in dramatic hue
That violet and pink sunsets
Were worth the price of stormy seas

I somehow always believed in hope
That good would conquer evil
And that love will heal all
Stronger than indifference or hate.

Now.....

I am not so sure
